1. What "Personal Information" Means

It includes anonymous or pseudonymous information when that information is linked to information that identifies you. It does not include information that has been irreversibly anonymized or aggregated so that it can no longer be used to identify you, whether on its own or in combination with other information.

2.1 Information you provide to us
Contact and identity information. Name, email address, phone number, shipping address, and billing address.
Order information. Products purchased, subscription plan selected, order history, gift messages, and delivery instructions.
Payment information. Card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processors. We do not see or store your full card number. We receive a payment confirmation, the card brand, and the last four digits.
Account and subscription information. Login identifier, password (stored in hashed form by our platform providers), saved addresses, shipment cadence, and next-shipment date.
Communications. Emails, texts, chat messages, and phone calls with customer service, including any information you choose to include.
Content you submit. Product reviews, ratings, photos, videos, survey and quiz responses, and testimonials.
Marketing preferences. Whether you opted in to email or SMS, and any preferences you set.
Job application information. If you apply to work with us, your resume, work history, and anything else you send.
We do not require or request your date of birth, gender, race, health information, or government identification numbers to buy from us. Please do not send us that information.

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect:

4. How We Use Your Information

Provide our products and services. Process, fulfill, and ship your orders. Create and manage subscriptions, including scheduled renewals, skips, pauses, and cancellations. Maintain your account. Process returns and refunds. This processing is necessary to perform our contract with you.
Communicate with you. Send order confirmations, shipping notifications, subscription reminders, and service announcements. Respond to your questions and requests. Notify you of changes to our policies or terms.
Market to you. Send promotional emails and text messages where you have opted in. Show you ads on third-party platforms and measure whether they worked. Suppress ads from people who already bought. Where required, we do this only with your consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Improve and develop. Analyze how the Site is used, run research and audits, test new features, and improve our formulas, packaging, and service. This processing rests on our legitimate interest in operating and improving our business.
Personalize. Tailor content, product recommendations, and offers to your interests and purchase history.
Protect safety and security. Verify accounts, detect and investigate fraud, prevent abuse, secure our systems, and enforce our Terms of Service. This processing rests on our legitimate interest in keeping our business and customers safe.
Comply with law. Meet tax, accounting, consumer protection, product safety, and record-keeping obligations, and respond to lawful requests.
Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us or using the opt-out mechanisms described in Section 8. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
A cookie is a small file a website places on your browser to remember information about you and your preferences. We also use pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies. Together we refer to these as cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the Site to work, including cart contents, checkout, session management, load balancing, and security. If you block these, you will not be able to complete a purchase.
Performance and functionality cookies. Remember choices you make, such as your region or preferences, and help the Site load and behave correctly. These do not identify you personally.
Analytics and customization cookies. Collect information, generally in aggregate, about how the Site is used and how our campaigns perform, so we can improve both.

6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Do Not Track. Browsers may offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to it, and we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
Global Privacy Control. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser.
7. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your personal information with third parties for those third parties' own marketing purposes without your consent. We disclose personal information as follows:

These providers are permitted to use your personal information only to perform services for us, and are contractually required to protect it.
Corporate transactions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business or assets, personal information may be transferred to the relevant party as a business asset. We will notify you if such a transfer results in materially different handling of your personal information.
Legal and safety. We may disclose personal information to comply with applicable law, subpoenas, court orders, or requests from public or governmental authorities, and where we determine in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, enforce our terms, investigate fraud, or protect the safety of any person.
With your direction. We share information when you ask us to, such as when you use a social login or a payment wallet.
8. Email and SMS Marketing
Email. If you opt in, we send promotional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing us. Transactional messages about your orders and subscriptions are not marketing and will continue as long as you are a customer.
SMS. If you opt in to text messages, you consent to receive recurring automated marketing and transactional texts from Rinsed at the number you provided, including messages sent by autodialer. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Numbers collected for SMS are disclosed only to our messaging platform for the sole purpose of delivering our messages to you. This restriction survives any sale or transfer of our business.
9. Subscriptions
If you enroll in a Rinsed subscription, we retain the information needed to operate it, including your plan, cadence, next shipment date, a payment token held by our processor, and your order history. You may update, skip, pause, or cancel at any time through your account or by contacting customer service. Cancellation stops future charges. It does not by itself delete your account or your order records, which we retain as described in Section 16. Details of billing, renewal, and cancellation are set out in our Terms of Service and Subscription Terms.
10. Reviews, Photos, and Other Content You Submit
If you submit a review, photo, video, or testimonial, it may be published publicly along with the first name and last initial you provide, and it may be reused in our marketing across our Site, email, and social channels. Anything you post publicly can be read, collected, and used by others, including outside our Site. Do not submit information you want kept private. To remove content you submitted, contact us and we will remove it from channels we control, though copies may persist in caches, screenshots, or third-party reposts beyond our control.
11. Contests, Promotions, and Referrals
If you enter a giveaway, contest, sweepstakes, sampling program, or referral program, we use the information you provide to administer it, contact winners, and fulfill prizes. These programs may have their own official rules that contain additional information about how your information is used, and those rules control where they conflict with this policy. If you refer a friend, you confirm you have their permission to give us their contact information, and we use it only to send the referral and any related reminder.
12. Job Applicants
If you apply for a role with us, we use the information you provide to evaluate your application, communicate with you, verify your background where permitted and with your consent, and comply with employment law. We retain applicant information for as long as needed for these purposes and as required by law. We do not use applicant information for marketing.
13. Notice of Financial Incentive (California)
We offer programs that may be considered financial incentives under California law, because they provide a benefit in exchange for personal information:
Subscribe and save. A standing discount on recurring orders in exchange for enrolling with your contact and payment information.
Email and SMS signup offers. A gift or offer in exchange for joining our list with your email address or phone number.
Founding member and loyalty offers. Pricing or product benefits in exchange for joining an early or ongoing program.
How to join. Sign up through the relevant form or checkout option on our Site. How to withdraw. Unsubscribe, cancel your subscription, or contact us at any time. Withdrawing ends the associated benefit going forward.
Value of your data. We have calculated a good-faith estimate of the value of the personal information involved based on the expense of the offer or discount relative to the revenue we reasonably expect from enrolled customers. We estimate that the value of the personal information is approximately equal to the value of the benefit provided. These programs are reasonably related to that value because the benefit is funded by the improved efficiency and higher expected lifetime value of customers who enroll.
Participation is entirely voluntary and you can leave at any time.
14. Your Privacy Rights
We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and current. Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the rights below.
14.1 California residents (CCPA and CPRA)
Know and access. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclosed it to.
Delete. Request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
Correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Opt out of sale or sharing. Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Limit use of sensitive personal information. Not applicable, because we do not collect it.
Non-discrimination. We will not deny you goods or services, charge a different price, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a privacy right, other than through the lawful financial incentive programs described in Section 13.
Sale and sharing disclosure. We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising cookies and pixels may qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. The categories involved are identifiers, internet and network activity, commercial information, and inferences. To opt out, use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer, enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email us. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
14.2 California Shine the Light
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about the personal information we disclosed to third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not disclose personal information for that purpose. To make a request, email us with "California Shine the Light Request" in the subject line.
14.3 Residents of other US states
If you live in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Rhode Island, Indiana, Kentucky, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you generally have rights to confirm, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond within the period your state's law requires and tell you how to contact your attorney general if you remain dissatisfied.
14.4 European Economic Area and United Kingdom
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract when you place an order or manage a subscription; your consent for marketing and non-essential cookies; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, analyzing, and improving our business; and compliance with legal obligations.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your personal information, to object to processing including direct marketing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
14.5 How to exercise your rights
Email customerservice@shoprinsed.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line and tell us which right you want to exercise. To protect your information, we will verify your identity by matching the details you provide against our records, and we may ask for additional information. If we cannot verify you, we may decline the request.
We respond within 45 days, and may extend once by an additional 45 days where permitted, with notice to you. Where a shorter deadline applies under your local law, we will meet it.
An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written, signed permission from you, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity directly.
There are situations where the law allows or requires us to refuse to provide or delete some or all of the personal information we hold, including where we need it to complete a transaction, detect fraud, comply with a legal obligation, or exercise or defend legal claims.
15. Closing Your Account
You may ask us to close your account at any time by contacting us. When you do, we will stop using your personal information to market to you, personalize your experience, or share it with advertising partners.
If you close your account, we have no obligation to retain your information and may delete it. We may, however, retain information where we believe it is necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, where the law requires it, or for legitimate business purposes such as accounting, auditing, account recovery, analysis of de-identified information, and enforcing our rights and obligations.
16. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law:
Order and transaction records: at least seven years, for tax, accounting, and product liability purposes
Account and subscription data: while your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for reactivation, disputes, and fraud prevention
Marketing contact data: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a suppression record indefinitely so we do not contact you again by mistake
SMS consent records: for at least four years after consent is withdrawn, as evidence of consent
Website and analytics data: typically up to 26 months
Customer service records: up to three years
Job applicant records: up to three years unless a longer period is required
17. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and the use of vetted third-party processors that maintain their own security programs.

18. Children's Privacy

Market to you. Send promotional emails and text messages where you have opted in. Show you ads on third-party platforms and measure whether they worked. Suppress ads from people who already bought. Where required, we do this only with your consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
Improve and develop. Analyze how the Site is used, run research and audits, test new features, and improve our formulas, packaging, and service. This processing rests on our legitimate interest in operating and improving our business.
Personalize. Tailor content, product recommendations, and offers to your interests and purchase history.
Protect safety and security. Verify accounts, detect and investigate fraud, prevent abuse, secure our systems, and enforce our Terms of Service. This processing rests on our legitimate interest in keeping our business and customers safe.
Comply with law. Meet tax, accounting, consumer protection, product safety, and record-keeping obligations, and respond to lawful requests.
Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us or using the opt-out mechanisms described in Section 8. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew.
5. Cookies and Similar Technologies
A cookie is a small file a website places on your browser to remember information about you and your preferences. We also use pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies. Together we refer to these as cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the Site to work, including cart contents, checkout, session management, load balancing, and security. If you block these, you will not be able to complete a purchase.
Performance and functionality cookies. Remember choices you make, such as your region or preferences, and help the Site load and behave correctly. These do not identify you personally.
Analytics and customization cookies. Collect information, generally in aggregate, about how the Site is used and how our campaigns perform, so we can improve both.

Your controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Where we present a cookie banner or preference center, you can set your choices there and change them at any time. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance at optout.aboutads.info and the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org. Blocking cookies may reduce or break Site functionality.
6. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Do Not Track. Browsers may offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to it, and we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.
Global Privacy Control. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser.
7. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not share your personal information with third parties for those third parties' own marketing purposes without your consent. We disclose personal information as follows:

These providers are permitted to use your personal information only to perform services for us, and are contractually required to protect it.
Corporate transactions. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business or assets, personal information may be transferred to the relevant party as a business asset. We will notify you if such a transfer results in materially different handling of your personal information.
Legal and safety. We may disclose personal information to comply with applicable law, subpoenas, court orders, or requests from public or governmental authorities, and where we determine in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect our rights, enforce our terms, investigate fraud, or protect the safety of any person.
With your direction. We share information when you ask us to, such as when you use a social login or a payment wallet.
8. Email and SMS Marketing
Email. If you opt in, we send promotional emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing email, or by emailing us. Transactional messages about your orders and subscriptions are not marketing and will continue as long as you are a customer.
SMS. If you opt in to text messages, you consent to receive recurring automated marketing and transactional texts from Rinsed at the number you provided, including messages sent by autodialer. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Numbers collected for SMS are disclosed only to our messaging platform for the sole purpose of delivering our messages to you. This restriction survives any sale or transfer of our business.
9. Subscriptions
If you enroll in a Rinsed subscription, we retain the information needed to operate it, including your plan, cadence, next shipment date, a payment token held by our processor, and your order history. You may update, skip, pause, or cancel at any time through your account or by contacting customer service. Cancellation stops future charges. It does not by itself delete your account or your order records, which we retain as described in Section 16. Details of billing, renewal, and cancellation are set out in our Terms of Service and Subscription Terms.
10. Reviews, Photos, and Other Content You Submit
If you submit a review, photo, video, or testimonial, it may be published publicly along with the first name and last initial you provide, and it may be reused in our marketing across our Site, email, and social channels. Anything you post publicly can be read, collected, and used by others, including outside our Site. Do not submit information you want kept private. To remove content you submitted, contact us and we will remove it from channels we control, though copies may persist in caches, screenshots, or third-party reposts beyond our control.
11. Contests, Promotions, and Referrals
If you enter a giveaway, contest, sweepstakes, sampling program, or referral program, we use the information you provide to administer it, contact winners, and fulfill prizes. These programs may have their own official rules that contain additional information about how your information is used, and those rules control where they conflict with this policy. If you refer a friend, you confirm you have their permission to give us their contact information, and we use it only to send the referral and any related reminder.
12. Job Applicants
If you apply for a role with us, we use the information you provide to evaluate your application, communicate with you, verify your background where permitted and with your consent, and comply with employment law. We retain applicant information for as long as needed for these purposes and as required by law. We do not use applicant information for marketing.
13. Notice of Financial Incentive (California)
We offer programs that may be considered financial incentives under California law, because they provide a benefit in exchange for personal information:
Subscribe and save. A standing discount on recurring orders in exchange for enrolling with your contact and payment information.
Email and SMS signup offers. A gift or offer in exchange for joining our list with your email address or phone number.
Founding member and loyalty offers. Pricing or product benefits in exchange for joining an early or ongoing program.
How to join. Sign up through the relevant form or checkout option on our Site. How to withdraw. Unsubscribe, cancel your subscription, or contact us at any time. Withdrawing ends the associated benefit going forward.
Value of your data. We have calculated a good-faith estimate of the value of the personal information involved based on the expense of the offer or discount relative to the revenue we reasonably expect from enrolled customers. We estimate that the value of the personal information is approximately equal to the value of the benefit provided. These programs are reasonably related to that value because the benefit is funded by the improved efficiency and higher expected lifetime value of customers who enroll.
Participation is entirely voluntary and you can leave at any time.
14. Your Privacy Rights
We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information accurate, complete, and current. Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the rights below.
14.1 California residents (CCPA and CPRA)
Know and access. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclosed it to.
Delete. Request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
Correct. Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
Opt out of sale or sharing. Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Limit use of sensitive personal information. Not applicable, because we do not collect it.
Non-discrimination. We will not deny you goods or services, charge a different price, or provide a different quality of service because you exercised a privacy right, other than through the lawful financial incentive programs described in Section 13.
Sale and sharing disclosure. We do not sell personal information for money. Our use of advertising cookies and pixels may qualify as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. The categories involved are identifiers, internet and network activity, commercial information, and inferences. To opt out, use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information link in our footer, enable Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email us. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
14.2 California Shine the Light
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about the personal information we disclosed to third parties for those third parties' own direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not disclose personal information for that purpose. To make a request, email us with "California Shine the Light Request" in the subject line.
14.3 Residents of other US states
If you live in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Rhode Island, Indiana, Kentucky, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you generally have rights to confirm, access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision, and we will respond within the period your state's law requires and tell you how to contact your attorney general if you remain dissatisfied.
14.4 European Economic Area and United Kingdom
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract when you place an order or manage a subscription; your consent for marketing and non-essential cookies; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, analyzing, and improving our business; and compliance with legal obligations.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and port your personal information, to object to processing including direct marketing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
14.5 How to exercise your rights
Email customerservice@shoprinsed.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line and tell us which right you want to exercise. To protect your information, we will verify your identity by matching the details you provide against our records, and we may ask for additional information. If we cannot verify you, we may decline the request.
We respond within 45 days, and may extend once by an additional 45 days where permitted, with notice to you. Where a shorter deadline applies under your local law, we will meet it.
An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written, signed permission from you, and we may still ask you to verify your own identity directly.
There are situations where the law allows or requires us to refuse to provide or delete some or all of the personal information we hold, including where we need it to complete a transaction, detect fraud, comply with a legal obligation, or exercise or defend legal claims.
15. Closing Your Account
You may ask us to close your account at any time by contacting us. When you do, we will stop using your personal information to market to you, personalize your experience, or share it with advertising partners.
If you close your account, we have no obligation to retain your information and may delete it. We may, however, retain information where we believe it is necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, where the law requires it, or for legitimate business purposes such as accounting, auditing, account recovery, analysis of de-identified information, and enforcing our rights and obligations.
16. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law:
Order and transaction records: at least seven years, for tax, accounting, and product liability purposes
Account and subscription data: while your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for reactivation, disputes, and fraud prevention
Marketing contact data: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a suppression record indefinitely so we do not contact you again by mistake
SMS consent records: for at least four years after consent is withdrawn, as evidence of consent
Website and analytics data: typically up to 26 months
Customer service records: up to three years
Job applicant records: up to three years unless a longer period is required
17. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and the use of vetted third-party processors that maintain their own security programs.
Please take precautions to protect against unauthorized access to your account, including using a strong, unique password and keeping your credentials private. If you believe your account or personal information has been compromised, contact us immediately.
No security system is impenetrable and no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
18. Children's Privacy
Our Site and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from anyone under 16, or the lower applicable minimum age in a given jurisdiction, and no part of our Site is designed to appeal to children. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us with personal information.
19. International Transfers and Visitors
We are based in the United States and our products are currently sold and shipped within the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on an appropriate transfer mechanism, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or another lawful basis for the transfer.
20. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Site may contain links to websites and services operated by third parties, including social platforms, retail partners, and payment providers. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, even where a link suggests a partnership with us. Review the privacy policies of any site you visit through a link from ours.
21. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to keep pace with new technology, business practices, and legal requirements. Most changes will be minor and take effect when posted, and we will update the "Last updated" date above. Where changes are material, we will give prominent notice on the Site or contact you directly before they take effect. Continued use of the Site after the effective date means you accept the revised policy. If you do not agree, stop using the Site and contact us to close your account.
